A HOT DAY HERE IN PARADISE

You know you are close to the beach when the seagulls are perched at McDonalds!

Ninety-five degrees here today and only half of our house is air conditioned. Don't marry a builder if you want him to ever finish your house. That's another story for another day.

I stopped by my favorite garden and farm market for some tomatoes and corn. The corn is local I think, but the tomatoes are from Virginia. That with some homemade crab cakes for dinner -- yum.

Did I already miss the luscious dinner? I always love visiting your blog...hot or not. The Tomato Sunshine garden center is sooo charming!

Thanks so much for your comments on my blog, you are so sweet.
Lidy

ps. hope the air gets done "someday"..:)

The only part about summer that I really like is all the fresh fruit and veggies that are available on every street corner here in Omaha. I'm not kidding, there is a farmer's market on EVERY corner.

Those tomatoes remind me...I gotta go to the corner.

Tina - Just finished dinner - homemade crab cakes, white corn and tomatoes! Tasted good, but I'd rather be eating them at your house - with or without air!

I wish you were here, too.
This is my recipe (Ken's mother's):
Gladys's Crab Cakes:
Lump crabmeat
1 TBS or so of mayo
Old Bay Seasoning to taste
1 egg
5 or 6 crushed saltines
Mix and make into cakes, dredge in bread crumbs. Refrig. for a little while and fry in butter until golden.
Voila!

We've been enjoying sweet corn too - tastes like summer! Broke down and bought some tomatoes today at a farm stand - not as good as ours from the garden will be - but our first BLT of the summer - can't complain!
