I am so happy -- we have snow. Probably the last we will see this winter. We have a few inches. I tried to take a picture of it, but the digital camera's batteries are dead. There is the cutest birds nest, now vacant of course, coated with snow in a tree in our yard. Too bad I can't get a picture of it unless I find some batteries. Actually, I love bird's nests. Sometimes I think of saving them, but then I worry about bird diseases, etc. Can they be brought into the house?

Ick, I wouldn't bring in a bird's nest. Lice.
Although I seem to remember on Anthony Bourdain's old Food Network show, he ate real bird's nest soup in Cambodia (or some God-forsaken place) and got very sick. Real bird's nest. They said that the saliva the birds use to make the sticks sticky make the soup extra delicious....yuck.
You are right. I just finished his 'Cook's Tour' and he did get sick. I am now reading his 'Kitchen Confidential.' This is autobiographical and very good I think.
I want snow! Did you have snow when you were up with Beth?
