Yard Sales Rule!

I finally made it to some yard sales today. I was planning on it last night and didn't remember until 10 a.m. that I had wanted to go. The highlight of one sale for me was that some children were selling grilled hot dogs, chips and a soda for $2.00. I hadn't eaten yet so I was very happy. A woman was selling her BMW red convertible. I didn't even ask the price.

Here is a picture of the things I bought. I think I spent about $8.00 (not counting the hot dog). As you can see, I got more books. These will be added to my TBR list. Here is also a picture of me with my new haircut and my new yard sale hat. The sweet little lamb is for my sister Linda who is collecting them. The red and white checked napkins are for the picnics that I never go on. The sugar and creamer will just be added to the other stuff I have in my cupboards. The little napkin holder I can use and it is from Siena, Italy which I visited a few years ago. The little handpainted pot with the lid says "Paprika" on it and Quimper, France on the bottom. (It is not authentic Quimper for those of you who are collectors). There is a glass shaped like a western boot from a local BBQ place -- will be cute with some daisies in it.

I don't have a picture of the hot dog, but you can see from my double chin and chubby cheeks that I thoroughly enjoyed it.
P.S. The opening music on my blog is a James Taylor song sung by Eric Vincent. I found this on
Tales From A Little French Garden House. I loved it so much I couldn't find anything I liked better so used it, too. I am waiting to hear if she doesn't want me to use it also. I hope it is OK, 'cause I love it.

Okay, thinking your haircut is totally cute - and not at all like Harpo!!! I'm of the naturally wavy hair myself - and the older I get, the less I try and make it do anything but what it wants.

My hubby is a total garage & estate sale nut. Not really my bag, but when I go and find fun stuff, I wonder why it isn't. Looks like you found some cool stuff.

Thanks, kris. I have a garage full of stuff and will have a sale of my own in a few weeks.

Hi, thank you so much for visiting my blog. It's pretty music, isn't it? Makes me think of holidays in France.

It sounds great on your blog! I will visit again, we love lots of the same things.

I like the song! It looks like you made out at the yard sale. Enjoy the books! Your hair looks very nice, by the way. :-)

Tina, You got some really great buys. And I love your hair. I don't remember it being that curly. Mine gets really curly too when I don't do anything to it. But 10 minutes with a straightener or blow dryer is so much better than sleeping on those big pink rollers!
