BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

Hello, all. I just realized that it has been ten days or so since my last post. I just haven't had that much to say and I haven't been very good about checking in with all of you on your blogs either.

I have been doing the usual in Violetlady's world: reading, watching old movies on television, cooking, shopping for goodies at the local thrift shops, playing around with the family genealogy, working some, talking on the phone, etc., etc., etc. While searching some on-line records I found that someone who had once been very important in my life had died -- nine years ago. I had been meaning to contact this person for years and never did - now it is too late. I have been truly bothered by this for the last few weeks. I think my sadness is caused mainly by the fact that it just brings home to me how a chapter in our lives can end so suddenly. If there is someone you think you should get in touch with, you should do it before it is too late.

Well, at least Spring is here...sort of. There are a few things blooming and the weather is getting slightly milder. I will share with you a photo of my youngest cat, Chloe, who was sitting on my desk looking at me. Isn't she sweet? What is she trying to tell me? Probably, time to open a can, Mom.

Always,

That should be one of the good things about blogging...you can take a break whenever you want!

Sorry about your old friend...what a powerful reminder to us all. Thanks

Stay Cozy,
Carrie

Hi Sweet Violet!

I was so sad to hear about your friend. We never know what day or hour is our appointed time or the time of others. It makes us all stop and think. Thank you for such an important reminder.

I'm glad to hear everything is ok with you otherwise! I'm so happy that bits of spring are starting to appear in Ohio. It's supposed to be 55 here tomorrow! WooHoo!

Big hugs, Sherry

I'm sorry about your friend. I kept thinking of a younger friend because I hadn't seen her for a while and I asked people for her phone number, but no one had it. So when I saw her last month, I was truly relieved to find out she is fine. I agree with you, that if you are thinking of someone, you should make the effort to connect!

Oh, that is sad about your friend. A good reminder to keep in touch, for one never knows what tomorrow may bring.

Love the picture of your sweet looking Chloe. I love tabby cats and have one that looks just like Chloe.

Hope Spring warms up things in your area soon. We are getting rain this morning. The grass is looking much greener, and the irises are almost ready to bloom.

Have a wonderful week.

Hugs,

Renie

I agree with Sherry. I'm so very sorry about your friend, and I know it always comes as a shock.

Your post is such a good reminder that none of us know how long we have. So say I love you to those you do, as often as you can! xo Lidy

Chloe is absolutely gorgeous...I love cats...and she looks quite mischievious! So sorry to hear about the person passing on. I'm sorry to hear of this loss for you.

I do hope all is well with you and that you have a great rest of the week.

Love, Jess

So true, never put off type of thing. Of course this is one of those coulda, shoulda, woulda type things that we can beat ourselves up with endlessly. So get out your address book and call those other people you have been meaning to contact, and so will I.

Chloe is lovely, what beautiful green eyes. Lucky you to have such a helper.

I love watching old movies and just spending quiet days doing the everyday things in life. I was sorry to hear about your friend's passing. It is a reminder of how fast time can get away from us. I am not always good at remembering to write that letter or pick up the phone. Thank you for reminding us. Miss Chloe is just ADORABLE! We have a tabby girl named Zoot (after a Monty Python character)she often gives me that same look. Give Chloe a scratch behind the ears for us.
Hugs from WV,
Charlotte

Your words are so true. Years go by in what seems like a blink of the eye, and suddenly I'll think I haven't seen so-and-so for five years. So different from when we are in school and see friends every single day.
