Tonight husband and I went out to a Mexican restaurant with some friends for Cinco de Mayo -- the place was packed and we ate our fill. Did you know that Cinco de Mayo is celebrated more in the U.S. than in Mexico? The one place in Mexico that it is truly celebrated is in Puebla, where the battle between the French and Mexicans was fought on May 5, 1862 and the Mexicans were victorious.
I will be leaving on Tuesday to fly to Mass. to visit my daughter and her husband and my two grandsons and will stay a week. Really looking forward to it. I try to get up there every three months. I will be able to celebrate Mother's Day while there and an early birthday for my daughter. I will take pictures while I am up there. I love to travel, but hate the preparation for it -- what clothes should I pack, will I leave in time for the two hour drive to the airport, is the house clean enough, is there enough cat and dog food so husband won't have to shop for it, etc., etc., etc.

Well, time for some shut eye. Until tomorrow...

Have a wonderful time, VioletLady. And Happy Mother's Day (a week early, in case I don't see you around the blogosphere before then).
Thanks, kookiejar. Happy Mother's Day to you, too. I will probably blog something before I leave.
Have a great visit. And a very special Happy Mother's Day to both of you. Send me some pictures of the boys - they must really be growing up now.
When you get home, you need to check out this blog: http://krisgardens.blogspot.com/
She has poodles and has links to things about Paris!
Hi VioletLady - Lynne beat me to the punch! She said we might have some stuff in common. I do have poodles - 2 black standards - or as we say around here, the definition of insanity! Your blog looks interesting - I'll come back when I have more time and check it out more - but I love reading and love getting ideas on good books. And I love all things French - maybe we can compare notes!
